Homeless people are defenceless towards the discrimination and violence that they are exposed to in the streets: from insults to brutal attacks. On a regular basis, news appears in the press on homeless persons having been attacked or even murdered. Politicians intensify the social climate with their racist and social Darwinistic comments by which the perpetrators feel confirmed in their behaviour.
